Donald and Melania Trump have been married for 20 years and welcomed their son Barron in 2006. While Donald focused on his real estate empire, Melania was devoted to raising Barron, choosing not to hire a nanny and being hands-on in his upbringing. Barron grew up in luxury at Trump Tower and was encouraged to explore his creativity, often drawing on the walls and imagining big futures like being a businessman or pilot.
Although Donald wasn’t very involved in Barron’s early years, Melania ensured father and son spent quality time together. As Barron got older, he developed interests in science, math, and golf, and his mother supported him every step of the way.
Now 19, Barron is studying at NYU’s Stern School of Business but still lives at home, with Melania wanting to be close and ensure his well-being. Melania has raised him to be independent, respectful, and kind, and says he’s an “incredible young man.” Though Donald once wanted more children, Melania felt one was enough, given their busy lives.
Despite growing up in the public eye, Melania worked hard to shield Barron from media attention. He’s bilingual and speaks Slovenian with his grandparents. Whether or not Barron will follow in his father’s political footsteps remains to be seen.
